Music

Awatapu College offers an extensive range of musical opportunities for students at all levels. Tuition is available in orchestral instruments, piano, guitar, drums and vocals. Classes are held every week, and students are released from timetabled classes as necessary. Music is offered as a curriculum subject through to Year 13. Our musicians regularly perform at school occasions, community groups and in regional events.

Production

Each year a major production is staged in which a large number of students participate in acting, singing, dancing and a show band. Students also play a key part in the technical production of the show, including stage makeup, lighting, sound, set construction and painting. 

Performance

Students also have the opportunity to be involved in Soirees, Theatresports, Shakespeare Competitions and Dance NZ Made.
